Admin 2025.03.21 84

Drs. Mimi Bong and Insook Han, along with K-CLUB Professors Allan Wigfield, Patricia Alexander, Andreas Hirschi, Lisa Linnenbrink-Garcia, and Matthew Bernacki, have been selected as part of the World’s Top 2% Scientists.

John Ioannidis from Stanford University has been publishing the list of the World’s Top 2% Researchers annually since 2019, based on the Scopus database from Elsevier, which indexes citation data. Researchers worldwide who have published at least five papers are analyzed across 22 main subjects and 174 subfields. The top 100,000 researchers based on C-Score (citation score) and the top 2% in each subfield are selected. C-Score reflects how often a researcher’s papers are cited, and it serves as a metric for evaluating their influence. The analysis uses six main evaluation indicators, including total citations of papers, h-index, hm-index (adjusted by co-authors), sole authorship, first or sole author contributions, and citation counts based on different authorship roles.

Dr. Mimi Bong and K-CLUB Professors Allan Wigfield, Patricia Alexander, Andreas Hirschi, and Lisa Linnenbrink-Garcia have been consistently recognized in the top 2% list since its inception. Dr. Matthew Bernacki has been included in the list continuously since 2022. On March 14th, the university held a celebratory luncheon hosted by the president to honor the selected faculty members. More detailed information on the World’s Top 2% Researchers can be found at Elsevier’s official page.
